Extended Hours

As of September 2019, patients can now see a GP by video with LIVI – even at the weekend.

Patients of Derby Medical Centre can now see an NHS GP by video using LIVI. Get medical advice, prescriptions and referrals on the same day – even at weekends. The service is provided free on the NHS. You can download the LIVI app to your mobile phone or tablet, at the App Store or Google Play. Or visit for more information. LIVI GPs are all GMC-registered NHS GPS, who (with your consent) will be able to access your medical records and give you a considered, in-depth diagnosis based on your medical history. Struggling to see a GP?  You can now see a GP in the evening or at the weekend.

The Enhanced Access Service has been developed to offer patients more accessibility to GPs outside normal working hours.  Provided by GPHP, this service consists of a network of twenty local General Practices in the Epsom area.

Who is it for?

We understand that some patients find it difficult to see a GP during normal practice hours because of work commitments or school.  This service is therefore primarily aimed at these people.  Suitable patients would be school children for non-urgent consultation and working professionals seeking routine appointments for blood pressure checks or contraceptive services as examples.  This service is not intended for those patients with chronic ongoing disease and problems which require continuity and review appointments.  These are not walk-in clinics and are for pre booked appointments only. The surgery is not open for other services e.g. collecting prescriptions, at these times.

How can I make an appointment?

To book an appointment you can contact your registered GP practice in the usual way. Ask your GP’s receptionist for an appointment at one of our sites in Epsom, Leatherhead or on the Downs. You can book an appointment in advance or on the day. If you are unwell when your doctor’s surgery is closed, you can phone 01372 738 373 from 18:00 to 21:00 on weekdays, from 08:00 to 19:00 on Saturday or 09:00 to 12:00 on Sunday to book an appointment. Please note, phones will only be answered if there are available appointments. You will then be seen by a local NHS GP with full access to your medical history.  There is no charge for using this service.  For more information visit
